Read an interesting piece arguing that AI adoption isn’t slow because of the models, but because nobody has shipped the platform layer yet. No OAuth, no events, no sandbox, no real “App Store moment.” Feels like the pre‑platform era of mobile all over again.

AI Isn't Stalling — You can't write a post title that wasn't written by AI!

(Seriously, you might as well wear a metal mask if you're going to use an em dash!)

Style aside, the interesting bit for me was the claim that AI adoption is stuck because nobody has shipped the platform layer yet. Curious what others think about that part.

        Who says it is stuck?

The HN /new page is flooded with articles about AI that nobody wants to read. Take a look at how many slop articles about HN on /new and looking the top page how people are desperate to read articles about anything else.

Holy it's not X it's Y Batman! From early in the piece:

    ---

It’s not bold. It’s backwards. It’s like asking someone to buy a car they’re only allowed to sit in while it’s parked.

The result is predictable: AI becomes something people talk about more than they use. The excitement is real, but the integration is superficial. The potential is enormous, but the pathways to realizing it are blocked. The technology is ready, but the architecture is not.

This is not a rant; it’s a diagnosis.

... it's like the people who post AI slop about AI haven't actually read what they post.
