Hey HN — I built this because I wanted something between Notion and Apple Notes. Notion's formatting is great but it pulls you into building systems instead of writing. Apple Notes is simple but felt limiting. Oatpad is local-only (notes stay on your machine, no account, no sync, no telemetry), has slash commands for formatting, and comes in under 10MB. Built with Tauri so it's Rust on the backend, web frontend, and launches fast. Free for early users, $9.99 one-time after that. No subscription. Happy to answer questions about the tech stack, design decisions, or anything else.
