I combined VIIRS annual nighttime light composites with WorldPop population grids and OSM city boundaries to estimate the share of residents living in high-brightness areas across selected cities.

The threshold (≥ 40 nW/cm²/sr) is used as an operational definition to isolate high-intensity urban radiance.
