This is a machine designed to trick people into forming an emotional bond with a robot. It’s a deliberate choice to hijack the user’s brain into transference.

    It’s really not okay.

      Yup, remember these?

Tamagotchis were banned from many schools in the late 1990s primarily because they were highly distracting, constantly beeping and demanding attention (feeding, cleaning) during class, which took focus away from lessons and led to students neglecting schoolwork. The toys' inability to be paused meant they could "die" quickly if ignored, creating emotional distress and pressure for students to constantly care for them, even in the classroom.

Mimicry and induced anthropomorphism has taken control of people already and it has not yet even reached its absolute state. It will not be long before people sue for wrongful death when an GPT has been shut down assuming that has not yet already occurred. Nation states and companies will be able to suck every last secret out of people. At some point we will see news articles about someone killing their spouse at the behest of their virtual significant other.

      [Works as designed]
