Text (if doing a text post instead):
I work hybrid and kept forgetting to update my Slack status. My coworkers never knew if I was at home or in the office. Since my laptop already knows where I am based on Wi-Fi, I built a menu bar app that handles it automatically.
Presently watches which Wi-Fi network you're connected to and sets your Slack status accordingly. Home network = house emoji. Office network = office emoji. Configure it once, forget about it.
Built with SwiftUI. Uses CoreLocation solely to read the SSID (macOS requires location permission for Wi-Fi network names). No data leaves the device.
Features: per-network emoji, vacation mode override, auto-clear at end of day, workspace custom emoji support.
I started this about 1.5 years ago, hit some annoying Combine/publisher race conditions and shelved it. Picked it back up recently with AI help to debug the timing issues I couldn't crack on my own. Shipped it last week.
$1.99 launch week (regular $4.99), one-time purchase.

Happy to talk about the implementation, the macOS SSID/location permission dance, or the experience of using AI to unstick a stalled side project.
