Back in the day it was called "mothers little helper". Extremely addictive.
For me, all drugs create a Paradoxical Reaction.
If you are depressed, SSRI's will make you feel depressed. If you are anxious, SSRI's will make you feel anxious.
Great for big pharma and a constant supply of profits.
I have worked with many many people, who have been prescribed an anti-depressant due to the grief and bereavment of the death of a family member, even a family pet.
During our psychotherapeutic work, they would reveal that they had been taking anti-depressants for 10 years or more, They could not understand why they still felt depressed after all those years. So we worked together to stop the anti-depressants, after three months of being free of brain numbing drugs, the person leaves therapy, with no depressive symptoms, and is able to live life to the full again.
Grief and bereavement are things we need to work through, its takes time, there is no quick fix, drugs do not help, they only maintain the sense of loss.
If any of you have been prescribed anti-depressants for any reason apart from Clinical Depression, that has been properly diagnosed by a Psychiatrist, not your GP, stop taking them, you dont need any medication for human grief and bereavement.
