This is a big deal towards transparency in the market. Compass runs a private listing system first. When a seller lists with them, the home often goes into Compass private network before it ever hits the public market. Critics say the reason they do this is so Compass agents can have first dibs at their listings and have earlier information vs everyone else on the market. Their strategy is basically to build a massive network of agents, keep more listings inside a private ecosystem, reduce transparency, get more pocket listings.

This ruling will be better for buyers and sellers.
