TL;DR: I open-sourced a US tax calculation library where every calculation cites its legal authority (IRC sections, Publications, Forms). Looking for tax professionals to review the logic and help catch errors.

    Why I built this

Tax software is a black box. You enter numbers, it spits out a result, and you have no idea if the math is correct. I wanted to create something where:

Every calculation cites its legal authority

The community can audit and fix errors

Anyone can verify the math against IRS publications

    What it covers

Federal: 2025 income tax brackets, capital gains (0%/15%/20%), self-employment tax, NIIT, QBI deduction, AMT

State: 16 state PTET programs (NY, CA, NJ, CT, TX, etc.), CA Mental Health Tax, TX Margin Tax

Specialized: Crypto tax, real estate professional status, international tax (FEIE, FTC, FBAR)

2025 OBBBA updates: New $40k SALT cap, tips/overtime deductions, updated child tax credit

    What I need help with

Verify calculations - Are the formulas correct?

Find edge cases - AMT interactions, phase-outs, etc.

Improve citations - Did I cite the correct IRC sections?

Disclaimer: This is NOT tax advice. It's open-source code for educational and verification purposes.
