"most important" requires more nuance. While Apple might be the most important tech company in one or two ways (e.g. consumerism, key advancer of chip tech, master of supply chain management), I don't know that I would crown them THE most important tech company.
For me, the current state of technology in society was impacted the most by Apple and their vision. Could definitely debate between Apple and Google, but I don't think another company is really in the conversation.
