    I think a better question would have been "where will things be in ten years time"? With the US on a strong downward slope and China on a non-downward one, it's just a case of estimating approximately when the lines will cross.

    Advances in technology, green tech, electric cars, high speed rail are impressive.

    Meanwhile the US is actively attacking science, freedom, rule of law.

    China pulls ahead and US falls behind.

    Although I think outsiders fail to realize just how little freedom to dissent exists in China.

      If we’re being honest, then that’s because of interventionist and destabilizing behaviors that states subject each other to. The only thing which makes sense is some kind of centralized control, what matters is how heavily you lean into it.
