Honestly, the long term effect that I've felt of pepper spray is that it's made me decidedly more radical in my politics. Like, I went from just wanting to hold my opinions and play my music to actively organizing with my local anarchist collectives.

I believe a lot of folks feel that way- I know a lot of folks who were pretty moderate in their actions and outlooks that have experienced the state using chemical weapons on them and who are now much, much more radical in their outlook.

Raw Story is not a particulary credible source, but it raises important questions: What are the effects of chemical [0] crowd control tools, such as tear gas? Is it more than pain / discomfort? They cite this Lethal In Disguise report (which might be a good FPP):

    https://lethalindisguise.org/

According to the PDF (in its summary, p. 12): "Tear gas has continued to be used extensively around the world. While chemical irritants continue to be the primary crowd-control agent used by law enforcement and security forces to repress and disperse protests, there is almost no publicly accessible manufacturer or government-sanctioned literature on the composition, health or environmental safety standards on the use of these weapons."

That's pretty surprising given tear gas's long history. I wonder if it's a failure of research or of this report.

[0] I doubt it takes much to grasp the consequences of kinetic tools.

What does that have to do with ICE throwing gassing lawful protestors?

ICE operations have violated so many laws that their imposition is law enforcement.

          > Impeding law enforcement is not "lawful"

Pretti was unlawfully murdered for lawfully exercising his Constitutional rights.

Anyone still trying to pretend ICE is on the side of the law is delusional to the point that they’re fighting for Democrat control of the Congress.

Interesting that you are confident that he was "legally" shot considering we haven't had a trial. "Useful idiot"

There simply aren’t enough Americans who believe Noem and Bovino’s lies. It’s why they’re being sidelined. Some people will believe anything, but that’s true on the far left as well.

Neither is murder. Just file it under "Something you'd be screaming to the moon about if Biden or Obama were doing it."

Of course, you've forgotten that it was a Republican who once told you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. These days, the Republicans recruit street gangs and order them to see how many rights they can violate at once. A whole different breed.

      > Americans voted to end the open borders

Correct. ICE should do that. Instead, Trump’s deportation numbers trail Obama’s despite blowing the military budget of Saudi Arabia because Noem, Bovino and Miller would prefer to make TikTok videos than do actual enforcement.

Don’t forget Texas and Florida, 2 and 3 on the most illegals immigrants.

          > Obama counted border turn aways as deportations. Big difference

Even if you adjust for that, Trump is about matching Obama’s figures. At 10x the cost. The amount San Francisco wastes on each homeless person ICE is currently blowing pretending to enforce immigration law.
