I feel that this issue is engulfing the administration, and they have no ability to take any accountability.
I hope that it's been made plain to everyone with the ability to reason that MAGA are fascists and bootlicking cowards to a man, and that progressives are teargas eating revolutionaries.
Depends which media you subscribe to. Quite a lot of it spins it so insanely I can't understand how it comes from the same planet.
A brain on a nationalism is worse than another planet. The disease isn't widespread yet, but the bot farms are working hard to make sure everyone gets an infectious doze.
More than 50% of Americans polled in the days after the Kent State shooting blamed the protestors for being shot.
Plenty of those people are still alive, and happy to support current "ICE"
Some of the people who threw rocks at a little black girl having the gall to go to a white school are still alive.
There's so much hatred. It's core to their identities.
More people will die, in more obviously fucked ways, and more people will insist that being alive around ICE is somehow a crime. They will literally raise GoFundMes for gestapo murderers. They want execution squads. "If only we finally kill those no good liberals, we can have a good country". They reject your right to life if you don't agree with their goals because they fundamentally do not want a democracy, but an authoritarian system that propagates their personal belief system.
These people are your neighbors. Your family. Your friends. Your coworkers. They come to your church and nod along to the sermon about helping those in need, and then they go home and post on facebook about how that guy deserved to die and they celebrate it.
The USA had a civil war, and killed 600k of it's young men, and a large portion of the country wanted to sweep it under the rug, and still work towards that goal today. Entire groups were spun up to the express purpose of insisting that the civil war was about anything other than slavery despite the literal text of documents from all the slave states saying otherwise.
Americans need to wake the fuck up and read some history. Democracy is a historical aberration, and authoritarian dictatorships can be successful and stable for generations. Nobody can help us. Nobody can save us but ourselves.
This is something I can agree with, but it does NOT prove that Good was trying to hurt the agent (I believe she made an error while trying to leave), it raises the questions of whether he should have simply hopped away or noticed her turning the wheel as he drew, nor does it justify the two rounds he shot from the SIDE of the vehicle after it missed him, nor does it justify him violating multiple police guidelines in walking around the vehicle and firing at it. I don’t know exactly what position you’re taking, but those are some of the things people are saying, and it does make a difference whether this was an attack or a confrontation where both sides made bad choices.
> check the the slow-motion bodycam video
Is there an actual bodycam? This situation has been criticized over the lack of bodycams and the sloppiness of the agent filming with his phone in one hand while confronting someone.
> cities defying federal immigration law
I don’t know your take, but it’s rich how many Repubs will rant about “states’ rights” and then flip as soon as they agree with the federal government’s agenda more than a state’s in a particular case.
There is, but I may have misremembered that it is on the bodycam video that the wheel direction is visible. In any case, you can see it here (focus on the video, as what the video shows and what the NYT says are not always the same):
