The split globally was ~54% hybrid/electric and ~46% gas. And author wonders why Porsche doesn't want to give up 46% of their Macan customer base? Or to be charitable, author wants Porsche to make that 46% Macan customer base, choose between an ev/hybrid Macan and whatever ICE alternative is available in that segment.

They may have sold more in 2025 but will the customers be happy with that purchase overall? Just about everyone I know in person, that bought an electric vehicle over the past 10 years went back to gas as soon as they could. Worst case lasted a week, brand new hybrid went up in flames while charging. Luckily in the driveway, instead of the attached garage. The batteries need to be standard, quickly swappable, and there needs to be stations for it. For the same reason I don't keep a giant gas tank in my garage, I'll never buy an electric vehicle.

Do you keep a car in your garage?
