DJT: do you want 100% tariffs?

The US regime tariffs and invades based on whims anyways, that threat is rapidly losing power.

I am not supporting tariffs. Just that it is sad the majority of MNC and SV is totally in the hands of US admin,

Considering he is threatening 500% tariffs against India - which some say is because they debunked his claim of intervening in the India-Pakistan conflict (Nobel peace prize denied) - perhaps other countries don’t really mind 100% tariff or view it as a better deal than many.

India is not as dependent on exports as the UK. The connections are stronger to the UK.

      That's getting a bit old.

I viewed the deep fake incident as an opening to talk about banning X, rather than the main problem with X. A ban of X is realistically necessary for countries to maintain control over their local narrative. Otherwise, they will be susceptible to propaganda from America, and in particular the new far right that Elon Musk is proudly a part of.

Even in America, X seems to be full of supremacist accounts - possibly fake bots - that are heavily boosted. Their replies appear at the top under many posts and have far bigger viewership than seems reasonable. I suspect there is significant manipulation of the content on X by X itself. How can anyone know when they don’t have an API to allow deeper access to how it is being used?

I agree that this is more of a justification than a reason. I also agree that social media can be dangerous.

But I’m not sure I agree that Twitter is any worse than the rest of them. (Unless you think that only one side is dangerous.)

I wouldn’t be opposed to an under 18 ban on social media. But I’m not sure there is much else than can or should be done. Society needs to evolve enough to be able to live with social media now that the world is connected as it is.
