    Not without winners and losers inside the EU. The related fine article[0] discusses some of them. Macron lost. Von Leyden both won and lost, she has won a trade deal and acquired a future €45b budget black hole to help dig Macron out from hundreds of tonnes of French farmed horse shit, dumped by jilets jeunes (hi viz wearing farmers) driving €500,000 tractors en masse to paris. Meloni won by holding out for a massive Italian contra. German car workers get access to the Brazilian mega market. Mercosur get good markets. It's a €70b deal.

    We all win worldwide because this is an axis of trade which has bypassed the WH and avoided BRICS. Huge populations, huge economic upsides.

      Macron took public action against this treaty because of domestic pressure but there is high scepticism about this conssidering that the deal was 25 years in the making.

      I think this will only push euroscepticism and opposition to Macron and his allies so next elections have become even more interesting to watch. Short term we see the fall of another PM.

        I don’t know much about European views on this deal, but will it create an opening for the rising far right in many countries? What is the EU’s answer to that - how will this deal help those populations of European voters?
