As someone who grew up in the UK, almost everything was hyper-sexualized in the 80's and 90's. I don't know if that has changed at all. High street shopping was an assault on the senses, with nude models on posters selling everything you can imagine. UK TV was filled with sexual content, from commercials to fake medical documentaries to push boundaries. Porn has always been readily available. From inside newspapers, to every corner store carrying a wide range of material. You don't see that in the US.

I think the core issue in the UK is that heterosexual relationships are far more conservative than elsewhere, even the US. Hell, the US is a 60's-style hippie orgy compared to the UK! This leads to deeply unfulfilled sexual desires and a rise in porn addiction. British culture dictates everyone should be having lots of sex all the time, but the reality doesn't match it. It's a heavily toxic environment. Add to that the increase in migration from the even more conservative Middle East and Asia and you have a powder keg.

I believe the rise in racism from the Pakistani grooming gangs in England is also tied to this toxic culture. Heavily conservative Muslims move to the UK, run these corner stores full of porn, and develop a negative viewpoint of white females based on that. No one wants to heard that, though.
