    Probably the opposite. It might save Starbucks in China. McDonald's China was once sold off to Chinese operators, which expanded the chain significantly, and then sold it back. The problem is probably that Starbucks HQ does not understand the China market, yet wants to control China strategy. Having outside operators implement their strategy is probably good learning for Starbucks.
