Hey, I'm having a somewhat similar struggle, so i thought I might share my experience as well. I'm a junior web developer and I recently got a job for a small local reality. I like to code and I like the process behind making good code too, my mentality is that you really learn something new only if you put an effort into it, so I've come to the conclusion that I don't really like using AI to do stuff. Recently I've been asked to join another company to work on an R&D team that will be focused mainly on AI, and even if I'd have a better salary and a full remote position, I feel uneasy thinking to what my future might look like. I think that for many of us is a time of uncertainty and I wish I had some kind of solution to all these questions too. I feel like all the knowledge I've gathered will be useless in a work environment and I'm considering switching to game dev just because it is an environment strongly biased against AI, for now at least. Sorry if I made some mistakes but english isn't my native language.
