Is the AI industry the ultimate built in the premise of violating the principal of “Your users don’t care about your architecture”?

It’s an entire industry led by architecture/technology and not solving actual problems.

The backlash is here. It's going to maim the AI industry.

Dislike AI? Or do they dislike hype intended to extract money from the government? Or do they conflate the surveillance state with AI because Palantir calls itself an AI company? Are they giving the techno reactionaries the side eye? Or maybe 80% of women can't identify with the weird women in Trump's government or have a few of them there are, and are just wary of anything Trump is doing? Or maybe they subliminally smell the slimy cryptoverse repurposing their GPUs for AI?

A lot of the tech industry looks pretty dark to people now. It's nobody's fault but those slinging TESCREAL jive.

Edelman this week released a flash update to its highly influential Trust Barometer, showing Americans are deeply fearful and distrustful of the Trump administration's top domestic fixation: accelerating AI. Big majorities are pessimistic about the technology broadly, and super-anxious that robots will eat their jobs. The global poll found that younger people in the U.S. (18-34) are much more distrustful of AI than their counterparts elsewhere in the developed world. Edelman CEO Richard Edelman told us: "People might believe that AI is globalization 2.0 — that jobs will shift out of our country, and jobs will go to ... somebody younger or cheaper."

I did not have the impression that "accelerating AI" is the Trump admin's top domestic fixation. I had the impression that lots of other were more important to them. Of course there's a certain amount of "kremlinology" needed to interpret Trump admin's utterances, given its relationship to facts.

      “Might believe”?

They didn't ask them, "Do you hate AI because it is globalization 2.0?" They're guessing based on the dislike and fear about jobs.

People already hated this dystopian tech. Then they watched billionaire tech titans kiss Trump’s ass for amenable federal policies and handouts - while Trump fought in court against feeding Americans.

Trump. Bezos. Altman. What’s the difference?

A bunch of chummy billionaires screwing over Americans to make themselves richer. That’s what tech has become. And Americans are done with it.
