Best to give the contracts to an American company. It would never get used by it's government to spy on Spain.

Totally makes sense. If you go to any mobile operafor you will see a lot of huawei hardware. From CEP routers and switches to multichassis routers in datacenters, and whole cell phone tower equipment.

They own the nework, they will better know than anyone how to tap it.

I see a very worrisome pattern emerging in Europe.

    - I see a lot of absurd and humiliating headlines (it doesn't matter if it is real or not, it ends up on people feeds). And in general it seems a disdain for their population.

    - I see a very belligerent attitude toward Russia for example, but others too from the governing class.

    - I remember Spain and Portugal going dark for almost a day a few weeks ago because of a glitch.

    - I am pretty sure countries like Russia can easily throw Europe into chaos with a cyberattack.

    - I see a young generation with no future

What I mean is Europe could get a taste of regime change because its control of the population is a lot electronic and bureaucratic. This is not the old days when a lot of control was the ability to deploy a lot of muscles in the street.

No more wiretap, geolocation if the phone doesn't work anymore during a week long of blackout. No more CCTV probably in most places.

I mean forget Russia, the US could feel it is in their interest too.

I’ve seen so many very smart people disagree on what degree the West can use Huawei.

The consensus seems: it’s fine for dumb tech; it’s ok for middle-intelligence tech, provided the tech is cleared by loyal, competent people; but it’s foolish for anything smart.

So it’s ok to use Huawei provided you security services are loyal, competent, and have the capacity to prevent its use.

So using Huawei tech requires western countries to look inwards, and honestly assess themselves.

    That terrifies me.
