    I used to work in IT, when someone forgot their password, we would reset it to password or 123456 so it was easy to remember and then they can change it. Problem is not everyone changes their password, esp on administrative accounts and root.

      Make it so they have to change it when they login. But also do not allow a simple password to be used ever.

        Managers and administrative assistants get mad at you for doing that, and either complain about you or put the password on a Post-it note.
