I'd say that headline is misleading. This is just an opinion poll, where neuroscientists feel 40% confident in their imaginations that this might happen someday in the future.

I don't think it would be successful for much longer than a person can tollerate a sensory deprevation tank. We'd have to build them a Matrix.
