The author here was consciously resisting the moderator's action, and got what was coming to them. I have a hard time empathizing with "the resistance" in this case since they courted disaster and now seem unable to reconcile the results. If this was my forum, I'd probably end up doing the same thing the subreddit moderators did.

To the contrary, I'd argue that suppressing low/no value content on a particular subreddit increases the quality of public discourse by directing users to more substantial posts instead of memes or meta-commentary.

Appreciate your feedback here. Don't want to get into a back and forth -- just want to note, at no point did I resist the moderator's action. To the contrary, when my posts were removed and they messaged me and asked I not post about the new meme subreddit anymore, I complied immediately, and offered clarification on my intent that I meant no disrespect, and would not post about it in their subreddit again. And I never did.

I will say if you had posted a nice good bye without laying blame at any one person or the situation at hand, and the mod needed to remove it minutes afterwards - you're probably safe to read that mod has serious butt hurt and is a kiddie unsuitable to wield the little bit of power being a mod has given them, even if they're as old as 40. If they're older they could be just having a really awful day, having a terrible time with mid life crisis, or really do need to start wearing glasses so they're not wondering why the headache tablets lately look different - being older and grumpy can lead one to do rash things they might not otherwise do.

Happy to post the full text of my goodbye post, but yes, it was brief, cordial, and not at all accusatory or anything like that. Sadly, this story gets much weirder as the Reddit Admins themselves got involved and behaved in a way I would characterize as unbecoming of a publicly traded $20B tech giant. I have documentation of everything that occured. For me, this all began because I was treated in a way inconsistent with their stated policies, and my reputation/name was being attacked, publicly, on Reddit by a moderator. I just wanted to defend my good name, which I’ve spent my whole life building. They made it personal, and into a much broader issue of platform management, which I felt compelled to address. Thank you for your reply.
