None of what has been said is new or surprising. Real question is whether anything is being done - again - to hold that dude responsible.

Nothing can be done to hold him responsible, which is exactly why he is acting this way. Even the most overt corruption is either immune from prosecution or impossible to prosecute before he dies.

The theoretical way to hold him accountable is impeachment and conviction. Obviously that will never happen.

How did the United States of America come to this? I am not talking about political parties here - since Trump could have as well run as a Democrat and do these and worse. Is there no hope for justice?

The dems are a lot of things but they would not have tolerated this. Or really anything dating back to the 'grab em by...' tape.

There won't be justice in the form of prosecuting corruption. There could theoretically be convictions of people who aren't the president but pardons will fix that.

There may be some justice inasmuch as unconstitutional exective orders may be rolled back.

So those who want to uphold the constitution and law the land - the military, the FBI, courts can do nothing? Why are we punishing those who do much less crime? How long will this lawlessness continue?

The norms that made upholding the law possible have been broken. Kash Patel of all people is FBI director, and TV lawyer Pam Bondi is AG. A drunk Fox News presenter is SecDef. These are not serious people. This is straight out of Idiocracy. They could literally end civilization if a bender and a senile episode line up badly.

They can refuse unlawful and unconstitutional orders. They can become whistleblowers up until the Roberts court decides that an independent OIG violates separation of powers.

If you are pasting paywalled articles, at least link to a web archive like https://archive.ph/J0VKZ. You will be doing everyone a favor!
