The question of why some people seem to want to own autonomous territories with no nuclear, health, or labour regulations seems worth asking.

What might they want to do?

I don't think this is necessarily ill-intentioned, I suspect people want to have places where they can experiment with different forms of regulation/governance. I can imagine the type of people who want to do this are excited about the idea with 1000 different freedom cities experimenting with 1000 forms of governance, and more quickly learning the best ideas in terms of regulation and governance.

Of course, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Have you heard what these people have to say about “the poor”?

It isn’t good. And it isn’t ambiguous.

Why would a bunch of VCs deserve to have absolute domain and “experiment with governance”.

These are lives, not data points. They are venture capitalists, not scientists, not priests, not gods, not even experts in any domain. They are responsible for the most wasteful, inefficient business ventures of all time. How much money and energy do they demand for useless ventures that serve nobody? Seemingly an endless amount.

What do they even know about what is right for people? By what authority? And they seek to usurp that land and authority from people who already live in those regions.
