Electric boats make a lot of sense when you can hydrofoil or glide. Candela had a demonstration of a long range trip in an electric hydrofoil boat, where they had range anxiety…. for the gasoline driven follower boat that the cameraman used to document the trip. It had to refuel several more times than the electric boat had to charge. And the difference in operating costs are huge.
