If only I had some good idea.

I've had this idea running round my head for a while now: perhaps we don't need a better internet, just a way to escape it.

So what's broken? I'd say almost everything. Like our culture around the needs of the tech giants. The way we fail to dominate technology. We culturally cherish compiled artifacts.

Our whole paradigm is wrong. We suffer from chronic cultural poverty. We lack self awareness. It's a clown show. Software was supposed to be modular and reusable. It's not. The reasons are not technical, it's us. We're exploited dummies.

Unbound and NSD are pretty popular.

Indeed. I use both Unbound and NSD quite heavily as do at least four of the Internet's root DNS servers. I use it for some of my authoritative DNS servers.

Unbound is used by many on HN that block ads and malicious sites on their home router.

Because they're trying to make things that are good instead of things that can sweep the world and make a ton of profit, it seems.
