    Similar specs and functionality from other sources costs half as much. You can pay $130 or $60 for a TB4 certified cable --- the choice is yours.

    The question is --- do you actually have a real need for a TB4 certified cable? For most casual users, the answer is probably no.

    Lumafield tool looks really cool, there are some links on a pinned comment to visualise the scans yourself. That being said I think comparing Apple’s Thunderbolt 4 cable to USB 2 cables and calling the others “imitations” is very biased and totally misses the point. Apple’s $130 cable follows TB4 specs, while cheaper cables often follow USB standards. A fair test would compare Apple’s cable to a $60 TB4 cable from brands like Cable Matters or Anker, then compare Apple’s $19 USB-C phone cable to other USB cables.
