FTA: "As part of the FTC’s proposed order — if approved by a court — GM and Onstar will be banned from disclosing data to consumer reporting agencies"

It's proposed, not official. And since the rule has a 30-day waiting period, and the powers-that-be absolutely despise Lina Kahn (who will be out of a job in a week), consider this rule completely defeated and bet that it won't be implemented.

The super-pro-Corporate party is about to take place, and GM donated to the incoming president. GM lost $10 billion on its self-driving unit, and wants to recoup a lot of that money. They've bought enough politicians to see that this rule never goes into effect.

This is the best outcome for the consumer.

I hate that term, consumer. It is so dehumanizing. Might as well call them carbon dioxide generators.

Why is it dehumanizing? What would you suggest instead?
