Shadow libraries are truly a gift to humanity. Thanks to them, poor and starving people in developing countries like myself can access knowledge, escape poverty and thrive.

It's great to have something like Slum. It makes accessing these libraries much easier and helps users check if a site is down for everyone or just for them. Plus, having the up-to-date links provided is super helpful!

I’m from a not-so-starving country, but I stil appreciate the low-friction of Anna’s archive when looking for a book or article. The important thing is then to go out and buy the ones that proves valuable. In many ways, this has replaced what the public library was back in the 90s.

Does anyone know whether these shadow libraries also include substantial amounts of public-domain/legal content that has yet to be made available on the more legit sites? If so, we should definitely have some sort of organized effort to harvest all that so it can also be hosted legitimately and not be taken down due to the obvious issue of also having so much illegal content there.
