    Once again people being called Luddites that are not. If the energy consumption for AI was brought down or independent clean energy sources were provided for each AI data-center it is unlikely these same people would have a problem with it, thus not Luddites. These are people that do not want their electricity bills to go up or their environmental movements to be cancelled out. Make efficient use of the data-center heat and get some independent clean power sources.

    If true Luddites existed we would know as most existing data-centers would be full of expensive paper-weights and the internet would no longer function. I am not going to say how they would do it but it's mostly trivial and a few thousand methods are public knowledge.
